Does a Medical Professional need to register on FindMyDoc?

  • Yes, a Medical Professional must register on FindMyDoc and publish his/her appointment calendar and other professional information.

What does the registration process entail?

  • Registration is simple and straightforward. It involves defining your professional information, contact information, practice locations, services offered and calendar settings.

Is it possible for me to be part of a provider network but not share calendar details?

  • Yes. You can selectively share your calendar/s to members in your provider network.

Do I get notification of cancellations or modifications?

  • Yes. All notifications are sent by email to you as well as your customer.

Can I restrict last minute cancellations or modifications?

  • Yes. You can set a predefined value to prevent last minute cancellations and modifications. You can choose from one of 4, 8, 12, 24 or 48 hours.

Is it possible to make bulk appointment modifications due to a delayed start of a Medical Professional?

  • Yes, calendar appointments can be bulk adjusted to accommodate changes to your availability.

A Medical Professional is unable to work today; is it possible to transfer all appointments of this provider to one or more

What if I already use a stand-alone practice management software?

  • FindMyDoc can send relevant customer appointment information to existing practice management software.

Is the system secure?

  • FindMyDoc web site is secured with a Starfield Technologies Web Server Certificate. Transactions on the site are protected with up to 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption. All data entered on FindMyDoc will be handled with the highest regard.

Who has access to my professional profile and personal information?

  • Your professional profile can be viewed by only by your customers. Any change to your profile can be done either by yourself or by your authorised representative. But, only you can make changes to your personal information.

Can receptionists access information of all Medical Professionals practicing at their practice location?

  • Access to Medical Professional information is managed and controlled by the respective registered Medical Professional/s. It is recommended that every Medical Professional in the practice registers on FindMyDoc.

Can I continue to use the existing phone booking process along with FindMyDoc?

  • You can use FindMyDoc for all appointments, made online or phone. Receptionists can continue to take appointment requests over phone and book on FindMyDoc.

Who in the practice would have access to the Medical Professionals' diary?

  • All information access to a Medical Professional's calendar/s is managed by the respective Medical Professional. A Medical Professional is required to share calendar access to the relevant practice contact/s to view the calendar/s and manage appointments.

Is it possible to add, modify or delete receptionists in the practice?

  • Yes, FindMyDoc allows you to add, modify or delete receptionists.

Do I need to register myself as a patient to use FindMyDoc?

  • Yes. As a registered user, you can make direct appointments with GPs, Dentists, Medical Specialists (with a valid referral) and Allied Medical professionals. Additionally by registering you will benefit from email confirmations and reminders about your appointment. Registration is easy ... and FREE !!.

What does the registration process involve?

  • Registration involves adding a few basic customer details like name, address, phone, Medicare and Insurance details (optional) and creating a personal Medical Professional network.

What are the benefits of registering as a customer on FindMyDoc?

There are several benefits of registering on and using FindMyDoc. The key ones are listed below.

  • Setup customer profile - you only have to enter your details once and that's it. Your profile will become automatically available to any Medical professional you book an appointment with.
  • Provide Medicare card details and insurance detail - again you only have to do this once and the information will automatically be available to your chosen Medical professional.
  • Search for Medical Professionals (GP, Dentists, Specialists and Allied Medical) online 24X7, without having to flip through white pages or yellow pages.
  • Create your personal Medical Professional network and view his/her availability
  • Select an available time slot and book appointments - FindMyDoc allows you to search and select a available timeslot that is most suitable to you.
  • Book one or more appointments with multiple Medical Professionals (including Specialists) online
  • Generate reports based on service or Medical Professional type
  • Electronic updates on appointments via email - FindMyDoc emails you with a confirmation of every appointment including new, rescheduled or cancelled ones.

Am I required to enter Medicare and Insurance details?

  • These are optional. Entering Medicare and Insurance details makes the appointment process simple and seamless. FindMyDoc stores your personal data and reapplies each time an appointment is made with a Medical Professional, avoiding unnecessary re-entry of data for each appointment - thus saving time.

How do I view my appointments?

  • As a registered customer, you will be able to book, view, cancel or modify your appointments with your preferred Medical professional/s on the Doctor Diary page.

Can I cancel or modify booked appointments?

  • Yes. You can cancel or modify your appointments; however, cancellation time limits apply depending on the Medical Professional. Medical Professionals will have preset cancellation times, usually to 4 hrs, 8 hrs, 24 or 48 hours. If this preset time limit has exceeded you cannot cancel an appointment online - in this instance you are required to contact the Medical Professional by other means to cancel.

Should I call the Medical Professional for last minute cancellation or modification?

  • Yes. You should continue to follow the existing method of calling a Medical Professional for last minute cancellation or modification.

How does FindMyDoc manage the cancellation or no-show policy?

  • FindMyDoc only applies time limits set by individual Medical Professionals for cancellation. A no-show is dealt independently by individual Medical Professionals.

What do I do if a Medical Professional cancels or modifies my appointment/s?

  • FindMyDoc notifies you by email when an appointment is changed (cancelled or rescheduled) by a Medical Professional or his/her authorised representatives (e.g. receptionists in a practice/surgery). Note: Email is sent to the email address that you would have provided during registration.

Can I setup a list of my preferred Medical Professionals?

  • As a registered customer you can search and select Medical Professionals based on personal preferences or criteria and add them to your preferred list of doctors (called Preferred Medical Professional List). You can then book appointments with a doctor on this list without having to search again.

Can I view past appointments?

  • All appointments can be viewed via a customer report that displays all appointments. You can choose the reporting frequency.

Can my GP make an instant appointment with a Specialist?

  • Yes. A GP (via his/her Receptionist) can make an instant appointment with a referred Specialist (or other Medical Professional). This takes away the need for you to schedule a separate appointment.

Can I make an appointment with a Specialist?

Yes, provided you are registered as a customer on FindMyDoc, the GP referral is still valid and the Specialist is a registered subscriber of FindMyDoc.

How are customers' medical information managed and secured by FindMyDoc to ensure that customer privacy is
protected?

  • FindMyDoc neither seeks nor stores any customer medical information. Its scope is limited to making and managing appointments with Medical Professionals. GPs cannot share customer medical information via FindMyDoc. Referrals to Specialists are limited to making online appointments.

Is the system secure?

One of my family members doesn't speak English; can I find a Medical Professional based on a language?

  • Yes. Customers can search for a Medical Professional based on a number of criteria like name, suburb, postcode, state, speciality, language, availability and gap. Select a language of your choice and search for Medical Professionals. If you're language is not listed, please advise us and we will make sure that it is installed on our website.

Can I view a Medical Professional's availability across multiple locations?

  • Yes. If a Medical Professional is practising in more than one location, you have an option to select a specific location. The calendar will be refreshed to display the available time slots for the chosen practice location.
